A man who lived nearly three centuries;
James Kelly, who died in Waterbury, Conn, earlier this year in his 102nd year, was for over 50 years a resident of this town. He had never been ill for any length of time.
He did not wear glasses for reading although he followed Irish and American politics all his life.
For over 85 years he had not shaved.
He was a native of Queens County Ireland.

Owing to the recent storms and heavy rains in Ireland, the Barrow river in the North-West of the Queens County overflowed its banks and submerged thousands of acres of the adjacent county.
Many small farmers who have been flooded out of their homes are now begging at the side of the roads.

Attempts have been made in the South East of Ireland to wreck a train near Maryborough Queens County. A telegraph pole was dragged acroos the track, but the obstruction was discovered in time. A man who was trying to remove the pole was fired upon.

At midmight during a House of Commons education, the closure was applied by the Government, but 16 Nationalist refused to vote. They accordingly suspended and asked to leave, but refused. The Sergt. of arms called the police to assist him and a free fight ensued over the expulsion of Mr. E Crean Queens County rep.,
It took 6 policemen 5 minutes to carry Mr Crean from the chamber.
